Comments: Either "pedophilia" or "paedophilia" would be correct.

Comments: Nothing of the sort. We simply have very different ideas of what constitutes "proper" grammar.

Comments: Not to burst your bubble, PG, but "spelt" is a common BrE variant of "spelled" and is thus presumably common amongst AusE speakers as well.

Comments: I must take issue with Stimie's use of the word "phalli". Generally speaking, "phallus" and "phallic" are mainly used to describe that which resembles or symbolizes the male organ of generation. Thus these words are not usually true synonyms of words and phrases as "penis", "cock", "dick", "wang", "magic wand", "bitch sticker", "fellatrix feeding tube", "tonsil terrorist", "meat thermometer", and the like, including the Taco Bell inspired "tuna taco sour cream gun". In conclusion, if you want to make reference to the penis or call the Parker Brothers' sexuality into question, please refrain from using "phallus" based words.

Comments: You're right, Peter, on all counts. Cheers to Spam, however, the processed meat product (by-product, perhaps) that helped save the world from Nazism.
