Comments: One of the best SMS games ever & the graphics were some of the best i've ever seen for SMS. I still own this game & have since 1989 & i've finnished it countless times, but i could never find the Ledgedary Shield anywhere. Believe me, me & my brother knew this game back to front & we could easily find Ledgendary Armor & Ledgary Sword, but no sign of the Ledgendary shield anywhere. Can anyone help me out here?

Comments: I bought this game a couple of years before i started to move on to 16 bit consoles after owning my Sega Master System 1 since the mid 80s & i still own Sonic & Sonic 2 for SMS. Fuckin great game for one of the later Master System Games. A lot of the later SMS releases were quite inferior compared to some of the earlier games, but not this one. Loads of fun & looks nice for an 8 bit game. Sonic 2 was the better though. All in all, not a bad 8 bit adaption at all. Damn i miss those days.

If you're really picky about superficial details then stick to the Genesis version & give this a miss but if you wanna try a fun game & you've tried all the other Sonics then download the roms for the SMS Sonics.

Comments: Just thought i also add that the arcade version itself wasn't perfect. It slowed down when there was a lot of on screen activity & a lot of characters on the screen. I'd rather put up it the flickering on the SMS version than the constant slowing down in the arcade one which effected gameplay. I also like the way the SMS version slightly changed the look of Billy & Jimmy & some of the bad guys. The women looked better in the SMS version, they looked more like oldschool 80s punk chicks instead of Marilyn Munroe in a tight body suit with a whip. The chicks looked a bit more butch & meaner in the SMS version. The arcade version is still the superior version, but it has it's flaws & i love the way it looked on the SMS & the way they made all the characters look. Also check out the roms for Double Dragon 1 & 2 for Sega Megadrive/Genesis if you want a console version close to the arcade. Or just get Mame 32 if you want 100% arcade perfect.
